Good questions

Before we begin.

Can I order stills or a presentation PDF without a film?

Yes. Refined stills are available in sets of 4, 10 or 20 images. Branded presentation PDFs are available in 6, 12 or 20 pages. Each can be commissioned independently, with two consolidated revision rounds within the agreed scope.

What is in the Project Launch Suite?

A 90-second cinematic film, 10 refined still exports and a 12-page branded presentation PDF for one property and shared creative direction. The suite starts at $12,500 USD for production-ready sources. Two consolidated revision rounds are included. At the base scope, the deposit is $6,250, with the balance due before clean final delivery.

What do you need from me?

For a 60-second film, start with around 4–8 strong renders showing distinct views. Send original-resolution files, the current plans if available, your logo and a short note about the audience and deadline. We review everything before quoting. Longer films need enough source coverage to sustain the story.

Can you work from floor plans or a 3D model?

Yes, subject to review. Plans help us understand the layout but do not show every finish or elevation. Plans-only work needs a separately quoted visualization stage. A usable model may support new views, but preparation, materials and exports are scoped separately.

Do I need to book a call?

No. Send a project link and a few details. We can review, quote and agree the creative direction by email. A call is available when it would help.

How do you protect the design intent?

We use your approved references to check proportions, openings, materials and visible spatial relationships. We agree a visual treatment before developing motion, review the shots and flag unsupported views. These are presentation visuals, not measured surveys or technical design verification.

Is AI part of your process?

Yes. We use AI-assisted image and motion tools alongside architectural review, creative direction, editing and sound design. Mitch directs and reviews the work. The process is guided by the project’s references, not by a request to invent a different building.

How long does a project take?

We confirm dates after reviewing source quality, coverage and our production calendar. Source preparation, client review periods and additional deliverables are included in the agreed schedule.

What does a revision round include?

One consolidated set of feedback from your designated approver. Film revisions cover timing, shot order, approved text and music within the agreed concept. Stills and document revisions stay within the approved views and layout direction. New designs, rooms or concepts are quoted before extra work begins. Studio errors are corrected without using your creative revision allowance.

What is included in a film?

Creative direction, refinement of images used in production, cinematic sequencing, editing, music, sound design, client branding, one primary aspect ratio and platform, and two consolidated edit revisions. Standalone still exports, narration and additional formats are quoted separately.

Can you add people, narration or social edits?

Yes, where the source material and production approach support them. Simple lifestyle activity, approved voiceover, alternate times of day and vertical or shorter edits can be quoted individually. We check feasibility before promising complex actions or recurring characters.

Can I use the work on my website and in advertising?

Tell us the intended channels at the start so the quote can specify usage rights and suitable music coverage, including paid advertising where needed. You must have permission to supply and adapt the original designs, renders and branding.

Will you publish my project?

We request separate permission before adding commissioned work to our portfolio. Tell us about confidentiality, an embargo or an NDA before sharing sensitive files or beginning production.

How does payment work?

50% of the approved quote is due before production; the remaining 50% is due before clean final delivery. Your quote confirms the currency, payment method, scope and cancellation terms. There is no subscription requirement.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. Motion Dept is based in Limpopo, South Africa, and works remotely with architects, interior designers and developers worldwide. Pricing is in USD and we reply to project enquiries by the next business day.

Are the portfolio films footage of completed buildings?

They are architectural visualizations developed from supplied renderings. A photographic appearance does not confirm that a building exists. Motion Dept’s role is image refinement and film production. Architectural source credits, including Mamoshabi Group for House No. 08, are shown on the project pages.

Can you create an investor presentation?

We can design a clear, branded presentation using your approved project information. You supply and verify any financial figures, planning status, program or market evidence. Extensive financial charts or a larger investor deck are separately scoped; we do not create feasibility evidence or promise returns.
